Blood on my hands, fire in sky,
I hear them scream, I watch them die.
Steel in my grip, God in my mind,
Yet mercy's shadow stays behind.
The holy city bathed in red,
I walk through corpses of the dead.
This is the war, this is the way,
But every step I fade away.
Crimson rivers, burning eyes,
No salvation, only lies.
I kill, I bleed, I drown in sin,
Is this the way to enter in?
Swords are raised, the battle’s won,
Yet in my soul, the war’s not done.
Echoes whisper through the night,
A choir of ghosts, no end in sight.
I see their faces in my sleep,
Their hollow eyes, their wounds so deep.
I pray for peace, I beg for light,
But all I hear is endless night.
Oh Lord, I hear Your call,
But I am lost beyond the wall.
