Tha Sabbat of Tha Wiccan Lyrics

In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni

Hecate, goddess of witchcraft… I felt a hand push me, and when I turned, I saw a black cat gazing upon me, then it fled into the dark and gloomy wood. I pursued it until I was lost in the heart of the forest; the moon was the sole light that could guide me.

Suddenly, before mine eyes, there appeared a trail of ghostly fires, showing me a crooked path.

I beheld a fair maid, standing at a crossroads, conversing with the Devil, and pledging to him eternal fealty in exchange for his dark powers.

"Satan, have pity on my everlasting misery,

Satan, have pity on my everlasting misery,

Satan, have pity on my everlasting misery".

From an ancient tree, Satan drew forth a grimoire, bound in pitch-black leather, and his bony fingers placed it in the small hands of the child. She beheld me, and took me with her into the womb of the forest, where witches danced ’round an eternal fire.

The sweet pupils did tremble at the sight of nocturnal spirits, who made fertile the land with their magic. There shall be no return, nor shall I ever desire it. O my sweet lady, grant me initiation into the mysteries of this mad world.

Then the Devil, embracing me, whispered in mine ear: "The babe is born with fists clenched, but the old man dieth with palms open".
