war makes heros out of men but so quickly heros die from one battle to the next not many stand the test of time one shined amongst the rest though his name has faded into legend one man who out lived the rest and became a god amongst them all so it was said so we tell the tale so we begin A man of legend in his own time A man worthy of praise Fought in battles untold before A man who’s memory will never fade His Memory will Never fade On the long way he passes by small markers Of others who came this way They fought valiantly Died with honor What more can anyone say Nothing more can anyone say In his home left behind A funeral fire is raised His home is burned to honor him Though he dies far from home Where he was born shall be forever known as his grave The setting sun light Reflected in his eyes Imaging the fires that decorated the sky Of the night he left Upon a far off mountain Alone in the world Remembered what was said I have done great deeds And seen many things Fought countless battles Sown the future seeds But now I’m growing old My life is slipping away I wish to join my fallen friends I can no longer stay Since no mortal foe has yet to best me I take my leave of the lands of men To walk the path way of the dying man Fighting against nature till the end Long is the way ahead still so much to go upon a dying mans trail Upon an old warriors long road My grave may never be found but such a glorious place to die past the mountains beyond the forest beneath a clear sky underneath the stars and watching old gods the old warrior closes his eyes underneath the stars and watching old gods the old warrior finally dies
