here be dragons So long ago The verdant plains Rolled onto the mountains Ancient forests Ruled the realm All was green the sky was clear no one knew what slept bellow the earth but old stories live though few still believe the old tales but enough believe to come and seek what never should be seen Fire and death Rule these lands as they did in times long past A land scorched to ash forever more A barren rock where no life is born The very air is deadly to breathe As the wind blows its chorus of screams A speeding shadow is the only warning The parades men never see the next morning For valor and glory they came Blackened armor is all that remain O I remember the day they came a day when so many were slain the wrath of dragons unleashed all foolish mortals take heed For the blinding gold lust of dwarves And glory seeking knights Because of them this land fell under such plight Now all is blackened rock Under the watching gaze of the Fire Throne mountain Where the lords of the land slumber Only to be awoken when fools come to plunder A warning falls on deaf ears As dwarves and men march forward The cycle repeats for years More gold for the dragon’s horde For valor and glory they came blackened armor is all that remains of all those who came this way Blackened armor is all that remains
