A shallow, bitter grave
I approach the end
The sins of my life cling to me
I must repent
Penance taken for my past
Will it be enough?
Fears swirl endlessly through my head
As the coffin comes forth
Pray my final prayers
Throw myself at the feet of Christ
Was it enough?
After I lived in darkness, and turned away my face
Will I be forgiven, or is it too late?
A shallow, bitter grave
I approach the end
The sins of my life cling to me
I must repent
To have sin washed away or to be damned?
I close my eyes, breathe in the ghastly air
Today, I die with a sinful heart and guilty mind
