Dear journal, I write this as our time grows short

We are once again nearing the edge

You can tell by the way the glow is closing in

What started as a black pillar now fills the horizon

We can see far from here

But there is not much to do to prevent the inevitable

It's like we were dirt between two cogs

A meaningless speck in front of an unstoppable force

It's like the glue holding our days together

Now had gone, vanished into the air

We had to leave all hope behind

Some spent their last days staring at the sky

Our calm didn't last

They told me it never does

It's getting dark again

Hear the screams as

The alarm goes off

To whoever finds these words

I just wanted say

Some days were good it was never

Meant to end this way

Murmurs in the shadows

Ominous schemes for the sole purpose of power

A long line of random occurrences

That slowly took the shape of a plan

I raise my glass to those

Who knew and still

Took against

The coming storm

This is for you

Who had the strength
