I've been treading water in the shallow end of life

Days they just pass me by, am I wasting my time?

The water around me rises from my neck up to my face

As all of these waves come crashing down on me

Lay yourself down

Leave the shallow end

Take a rest now

And die by the cold waters edge

I stopped taking chances in the early part of life

As all of these years have dissappeared on me

In deeper waters and over my head
