Hurling their jibes

Ignorant they

Threw Him away

Passover Lamb

Saving the damned

He is pierced

Being crushed

He's despised

Upon His cross

“Father, oh, Father

Why have You thus forsaken Me?

Oh Father, why have You thus forsaken Me?”

Unseen by all

The wrath to befall

On God the Son

It will be done

To take the guilt

And heal His sheep

“Father, oh, Father,

Why have You thus forsaken Me?

Oh Father, why have You thus forsaken Me?”

With a loud voice, Jesus cried out

“Father, into Your hands, I commit My spirit!

It is finished!”

And then there was a great earthquake

For the rocks split in two

And the curtain of the temple tore from top to bottom

The Father was

Pleased to crush

His only Son

To pay for sin

Christ poured His soul

Giving His life

Return to the fold

And be made right

Humbled to death

Even death on a cross

Therefore, God has highly exalted Him

And bestowed on Him a name that is above every name

So that at the name of Jesus

Every knee shall bow
