When angels and demons and crystal spheres
Where imagined to be up there
When the sun revolved around the earth
And when the planets where assigned to our birth
We thought us special, we thought us unique
We thought the world was for us to keep
Fear and violence kept out morals high
But the only thing we did was letting the truth hide
The fire, the water, the earth and air
Was studied and made the wise men despair
In our arrogance we thought us as privileged beings
But the great demotion showed us how insignificant we are in the world of science
The angels and demons
Has no part in the voice of reason
Crystal spheres and planetary icons
Will no longer be a part of life songs
In island universe of billions of suns
Our little planet is as unimportant as anyone
In faith and religion we put our trust
But in fact we nothing more that some simple stardust
The fire, the water, the earth and air
Was studied and made the wise men despair
In our arrogance we thought us as privileged beings
But the great demotion showed us how insignificant we are in the world of science
