In awe, I gazed into the mouth of this patulous void

The screaming and shrieks of our skies

Cracked open the earth

Towards nothing I reach

Leaving behind all that I was

In admiration of the black

And the bleak chance that life will survive

With no lingering thoughts for my future or past

I delved inside

I found myself...

Thinking clearer than when I was drowning in light

To walk the skies

In a state of neither flight or falling

To have freedom from the weight

Of our mortal demise

The waters rise and fall around

The current I'm caught inside such a fearsome wonder

A hero I was branded, the moment I set foot back

Upon this rotten earth

The white and black filling all the empty spaces

Where there's no sight or sound
