Once upon a time ago

Lived a man I did not know

He kept his secrets locked away

Without knowing the price he'd pay

The words he spoke could make you choke

He thought he blinded them all so well

Without warning it slipped away

An absent father I never knew

You stuck the thorn right in your side

A long way home can't get it back

No visions of it all seems black

Just how big did you think you are

A spineless man won't get far

As a child I use to pray

That you'd come home at the end of the day

And in the shadow I use to cry

I blamed myself don't ask me why
