With the choices over and life seeming short

Everyone preparing to die

Short of breath and eyes that cannot see

As the pain and hurt are settling in

It came without a warning

Without a clue it fell upon me

They have no meaning, they’re not understood

False hopes and dreams, what’s to be gained

To build up moral, shot down in pain

After the traces burned the sky

Disappearing from sight

The flash in our eyes as bright as the sun

As loved ones fell to the ground

The strong watched with horror

No power to help, no strength in reserve

Language of war, so much it can say

No more frightening at night than in the day

Hostile but easing words, we all must hear

Built up in sorrow, shot down in fear

Knowledge gone, no evidence remains

The silt harbors the prize

No witness, no jury, no judge, no crime

Will we ever build

To such an advanced state

To once again bring full circle our lives

Language of war, in so many words

It’s all been said, it’s all been heard

Justified violence, glorified death
