Once catholic feet fell upon our sands

Hence a murderous shadow was cast

A poison crawled across the land

Its tyranny held fast

The infection raged like a forest fire;

As brother turned against brother

With the blood of waling innocents

The trembling Earth was smothered

Take me now unto your depths

Tranquil embrace

Drink deep of my slowing breath

Dreams they fade...

Carry me unto realms unknown

The calendar I dread

Upon my heart, ivy's grown

As this life I shed..

Eight waves, benign did come

Such hallowed suffering rode upon the ninth...
