Lakeside has fallen silent

Mesmerized by the stillness

Even wind has stopped blowing

But the shadows grow bigger

Unfathomable

A violent eruption

Thunder in the sky with a strange hue

Earth escapes from under my feet

Embraced by the water

Colder than never before

Yet somehow this liquid grave

Burns me

Sinking deeper

Beneath the surface

Respiration dissipates

Bodily functions already ceased

Vague shred of consciousness still persists

The mind wanders with a quickening pace

Deafening shrieks where my ears used to be

Blinding light stinging what used to be my eyes

Descending further

Remaining colours fade to grey

A horror experienced never before

Engrossed in madness

Never to be revealed

Is this a dream though paralyzing

Or is this... death?
