A plague of man to consume all things

From soil tilled with metal and rock

A seed from the Old Ones

Raised in the shadows of death

In the loom of euthanized silhouettes

A world forced to surrender too soon

History repeats, an echo in the stone

Footsteps treading on the rocks of forbidden grounds

Widened eyes see things that were never really meant to be seen

Ghostly words they linger here, they’re dripping from the dark

Speaking of small tragedies and little loves

And they must know what it is

This yearning they were born with

A connection to know what made them

To know if they had purpose

To know what made them unwanted

What led them to be abandoned

A lifetime of scorn

In their world apart

So much more than just their skin

The swansong of a world in the rock

Daughter of the mountain

Twisted arms snake from the earth

Hiding a hoard of unkempt truths

A grave of metal and rust

The mountains hide where makers end

Hides the sins of selfish men

A circle of death kept from the world

Buried deeds lost to the sky

The sky spoke with the mountain’s voice

To woman born of mountain’s womb

Secrets of blood, soil, and metal

Of futures made of lifeless fields

The sun descends from the sky

To scorch earth, metal, and man

The daughter of the mountain

Unyielding to even a star

Death throes in the waves of an ocean

Buried in graves set in the light of stars

The mountain’s body remains

Left to the soil she defended

Unfounded and unpraised

A long earned rest

Her voice still echoes in the world

Through metal, rock, and rust

Mourn only so long her death

Warmth found in the strength of her will

Nestled in the overgrowth of her home

Caressed by the soil she saved

Eyes shut against the light she’s kept
