Same as I train a pet, I’m scarred

Anxiety has trained the wolf into a dog

Now it’s time to face the world with war paint on

I’ll be great with words

Won’t take it personally

I won’t assume I know

And I’ll do my best

Because the goal is to break the spell of domestication

I’ll be aware and stop the fear reaction

Time to claim my own power

Independent of all other people’s opinions

They’re just reacting from their own conditioning

Allowing my spirit to fly, the magic and the mastery of intent

It’s a struggle to break free

From all the programming

Fear and self-doubt plaguing me

Guilt, incrimination, self-abuse and rage

But I’ll calm the storm, remembering where it’s born
