Hurtling back into my body I awaken! Crumpled and bloody in an enshrouded wood Damp earth reeks and invades my nostrils Fear enters my body I see someone there and I cannot move A pallid face above my own grinning Foreshadowing Death? Or perhaps simply mocking me Anger girds my chest Pumping blood to my appendages Mobility restored I lash out at the face Which crumbles into a dust A fine dust which, breathing heavily, I inhale. Again I awaken Gasping for air and gripping my chest For an instant that pallid, loathesome face is visible Mocking me Hovering above me.
