Autumn leaves aflame
Cold chills freeze her veins
Unveil the burning pain
Summer has died
As her fingers gently undress'
Her summer gown
Shivering by the chills of the wind
Bare in a blush the palette to brush
Red
Courting with a promise of love
A vow sworn
But rejecting befouling eyes
As her beauty scorned, she
Wept
By force of an untamed hand
Faced down tasting a mouth of sand
And locked her heart away
The leaves whirling astray
Tears carved the rivers deep
Wetting the roots that grew beneath
Raindrops caress her skin
And wash the mascara off her chin
Her face a swamp of black blusher smeared
Swathed in white fog of male cheers
Better watch their feet and where they go
The insidious mire swallows
