We hide in the warmth of the lightbringer's shadow,

Feeding on the hand that beats us.

For God did not give us a spirit of fear.

We keep our children afraid of the dark,

in fearful reverence of the moon.

Blaspheming the Lord we Christians hold dear

We hide in the warmth of the lightbringer's shadow,

Putting our faith in appearances.

It seems we'll have anything for a king.

We keep in our hearts

This fear of the dark

In praise of comfort, we sing;

Keep us safe, keep us sound, keep us from suffering for Your name. Keep us away from sinners, and the darkness in them.

"It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known"

Oh bring us some light for the darkness is fearful to us.

The spirit is willing but our flesh has not enough trust.

If you are the lightbearer, I will stay in shadow.

If what you have they call warmth, I shall remain cold.

If your lies are enlightenment, I shall be called stupid.
