The earth trembles as the Son of Man descends

Deep below the earth into the realm of the dead

The souls of men were imprisoned there in darkness

Yearning for liberation from their captive state

The Lamb of God has come for His people

And the evil one was powerless to stop Him

He took the keys of death and of hell

Leading an exodus of souls

Those who would hear His words

Were led to freedom

Those who belonged to Him

Were bound no more

The earth trembles as the Son of God ascends

To His lifeless form which suffered no decay

Then breath returned to His lungs once more

And the Risen Lord triumphed over death
