Assymetrical cysts were observed in the white matter
The frontal white matter around the cysts revealed marked loss of fibers and spongiosis specially near the cavities bilaterally
The thickness of the cortex was irregular in the whole frontal lobe
Shrinkage of neuronal cells, the number of neurons decreased
These finds were due to retrograde degeneration
