Here I stand at the foot of the mountain in awe
And reflect upon the trainings
As the progress arises, my first step is set
And the courage is sustaining
I wonder how I’ll feel, when my feet finally reach the peak
I’ll stand upon the glorious grounds, and think of worlds to seek
In time I will observe for miles, the beauty of today
The risk of which I am well aware, my death I might relay
The clouds are drawing near
Winds lash, wreak utmost fear
The cold is trouncing through the barrier veil
My limbs are at the break
Of ceasing steps to make
Will I become a victim of the tale
In my shelter I rest
Will I conquer the test
Fearing failure of life’s ambitions
Sipping life’s full embrace
Staring death in the face
To surmount one of earth’s great creations
Aspirations are strong, and the will to succeed,
Emanating from my being,
Grants the power to climb, and the pulse to advance
And it multiplies my breathing
My eyes focused as I hold the key to the gate
Overcoming life’s enchantment
One last hurdle to close, and the curtain will rise
To reveal my goal triumphant
I wonder how I’ll feel, when I’ll be drifting from the crest
The sense of an achievement and a wish for last request
When I return to warmer grounds, a tribute I will form
To those who risked their lives and those who faced a fatal storm
