Sailing along its planned trajectory

The shuttle’s course is laid clear

Then from out of nowhere the scanner reacts

An unknown object is drawing near

With a thunderous clang it hits the ship

Then all is silenced by a deathlike calm

No one moves and no one speaks

Except confirming that no one’s been harmed

What could it be - stuck to our hull

Emanating some form of energy

What can we see - metallic yet dull

And unknown life-form or just debris

Now nothing but the Dark filled his thoughts

“Is this alien object a foe or friend

An assailant and now we’re caught?”

“What is it and how does it affect us?

Can we continue our mission?”

Strange currents flowed into their minds

Probing their inner visions

Something diffuses through the vessel

A palpable force of strange energy

They all feel it yet no one dares to speak

Lest the others might think him crazy

Now it has merged with the ship

The scanners cannot register it anymore

They prepare to continue their trip

Starting where they left off before

“How can you continue as if nothing happened

There is something out there still

As long as it’s there we’re not safe
