The Fisher King Lyrics

Away from Camelot Perceval walking

He arrived near the side of a lake

Far too deep to be crossed or even to swin

But there appeared an old man fishing

In a little boat with black sails

He saw Perceval and took him aboard

To the other side friendly they crossed

Soon I am king beyond this side

Look, see my walls, my towers, my castle

I'm the Fisher King, I am rich but I'm old

You're welcome tonight, be my host gentle knight

So brave Perceval shared his dinner

In the grey-stoned hall of the fort

When came many servants holding items

A bleeding spear, a mervellous grail

Son I am king, this is my curse

Look, see my wounds, I have felt on the field

I'm the Fisher King, I am weak and I'm old

You were my last chance to be cured, it's over

Perceval would not speak 'till the king is gone

Begging leave quickly, running for hours

All distraught and confused, weeping and bitter

For he knew he had seen the real Holy Grail

Son you have failed, darkness will come

That was chance for the land to rise

He's the Fisher King, the keeper of the Grail

The cup in wich our Lord has bled when he died
