Trying to make sense of what once was

Is a lonely place to be

To take these shreds and make them fit again

Seems impossible to me

Yet have them in my heart

A floating painful puzzle

The remains of passed by life

Something I will never have again

A place where everything

Converged right into me

As the years passed by

There was no afterthought at all

Everything had to burn and fade

To make room for the newer way

Yet I still linger

On the thought that I should have stayed

That has soon all gone away
