I was minding my own business

A day in May, it was hot

All around me, babes in tights and dudes in pain

Everywhere I caught the scent of nature

Flowers, trees, it was nice

Mating time for nothing much

Just life as such

Along came a reminder

Hope, I saw hope

She had a blood red skirt

Wound blue lips

Two black eyes

Purple skin

Dark intrusion of my idyll

This day in May - she was hurt

She was dissolving in tears

And diluted in blood

The dirt in her face we could wash off

But still inside, she was hurt

By a man of honour, her family

Says he: "I work all day, now come and play, child, obey!"

"No, Daddy, no!"

"Hell, child, it's time I gave you a lesson!"

He gave her a blood red skirt

Wound blue lips

Two black eyes

Purple skin

Daddy, Daddy, here we come

Today, you pay, pay your dues

Time to settle your account

Before your God

For your daughter's suffering
