I realize this might be the end

of a story of love of a life

Accusations that I won’t survive

An unmerciful deadly knife

I know I was at the wrong time and place

and that hate and revenge cause this strife

Now here I stand it’s a deadly end

to prevent I become my lover’s wife

Doctrine and faith they are two worlds apart

and they never should be confused

Love’s not a sin it is good in itself

and therefore I am falsely accused

This court permits hate to be acted out

under guise of virtue and truth

And to make sure there’s an eye for an eye

and a tooth for a tooth

There’s something greater than this idiotic judgement

have mercy now

Remember that it’s grace for grace and love for love

you should allow

I believe that love is stronger than death

It will survive as I breathe my final breath

You broke into our world but did not get far

True love no matter what the consequences are

I’m proud of who I am and of the man I love

Even death will hardly seem worth thinking of

Whatever obstacles are thrown our way

you have a choice there is a better way

The most courageous act now is compassion

My love is my only true confession

Realize what’s been broken can never be bent

Character is not defined by race or religion

Don’t hate me cause of class and social position

Pointless to try to control the man I love and me

Push love to one side and it creeps to the other

It’s all a waste of time don’t even bother

No matter what you do my heart is true
