As the vessels of a potter
Shall they be broken to shivers
Thou art wretched, and miserable
I spew thee out of my mouth
The morning star doth not rise
The blackened sky shall haunt the mountain
Far from the eternal light
Lo, the people shall dwell alone
The arrows of the Almighty are within me
The poison whereof drinketh of my soul
The terrors of God do set themselves against me
My skin is broken, and become loathsome
Let the stars of the twilight be dark
Let it look for light, but have none
Nor let it see the dawn of the day
Because thy way is perverse
Thou renewest thy witnesses against me
Increase indignation upon me
Changes and war are against me
The earth is given to the hand of the wicked
I will speak in the anguish of my spirit
Hearken my words at the precipice of death
For he breaketh me with a tempest
And multiplieth my wounds without cause
Lo, let that night be solitary
Let them curse it curse the day
Let the stars of the twilight be dark
Let it look for light, but have none
Nor let it see the dawn of the day
Because thy way is perverse
