Condemned to feed the jaws of the night

To the desert, among the vacant sea of grain,

In the unknown, to soothe the ache, the restless pain

Drown! Let the sand fill your empty heart

Expire! May the endless misery eat you apart

Glittering bones, cleansed by the scorching eyes

Exposed, for once deprived by all disguise

A vain memorial for no one but a shadow's scorn

May this poem forever be forlorn
