Why?
Beaten, taunted and dragged
His shape increasingly dishevelled
Lifted onto a wooden chair in readiness
A noose gifted around his neck
This shaking weak form, a tearful husk
Is pitiful to look upon
As the noose placed around his neck
The hanging of faith, lest we forget
In a thundering heartbeat
They witness the chair get ripped away
What horror! The creaking rope whips
Under the sudden strain of his tortured frame
Eyes bulge in unreal fear
Carotid arteries crushed and ready to burst
As the nose placed around his neck
The hanging of faith, lest we forget
This harrowing sight before them
A father's throat slowly distending
If his neck is broken why does her writhe?
Go way of all flesh, relinquish life
Father...
A racing child's heart, a theatre of anguish
Inside his head, his father's voice echoes
And yet he still questions why he's now alone...
"Why have you been taken from me?"
Father!
