A silence falls beneath the leaves

My crippled soul hunts endlessly

I’m reaching out for one desire

For that which makes me whole again

The twilight crept in long ago

The blackened skies washed pain away

And fires that burned deep within

Seared love’s eternal hold on me

Lost in the dead of night

To walk this path alone

Stripped of hope inside

To dust, I shall return

Eternal solitude for those who dare to dream

And by the hands of mortal man

I crumble; to dust, we all return

The trail I tread in agony

Leading nowhere, fading from my sight

No answer comes to me

No calm to soothe the pain inside
