In the chaos of the world today

I’m just a ghost lost in the fray

My thoughts they wander slow and wide

While all the world rushes with the tide



I hold the old ways close to me

The values the truth the dignity

But they laugh and they mock

As I walk the road they forgot

The new wave rolls so fresh so bold

I stand alone with beliefs too old

In silence I sit and I ponder my place

A stranger in a world that’s lost its grace

My heart is a book with pages torn

From a time they’ve left a time I mourn

Where do I fit in this world so new

Where I stand seems like nothing true

I’ve tried to adapt to change to bend

But the future’s a path I can’t comprehend

I am the echo of yesterday’s song

A voice in a world that’s moving too strong

So I’ll keep to myself my quiet refrain

A soul lost in progress an endless pain
