Into the Archway Lyrics

In here the world slips away,

Inscribed on stone walls are mendacious games we all love to play

These castle walls sing songs for the souls that they claim

But all you hear is the clashing of chains, calling you…

Into the Archway

I once saw the quell of the moon through the eye of the putlog hole

Awakened my memory of a man who lived here so long ago

But I filled it with the sand just to quiet the dream

If dark is all that you have, then darkness is all that you need

Try and hold a candle to the halls of this great maze

But Hell is all I see

A rabbit’s warren or labrynthiform - am I making it harder to leave?

Everyone is watching, but nobody is looking at me

What kind of god would orchestrate a brick and mortar beast?

I once saw the quell of the moon through the eye of the putlog hole

Awakened my memory of a man who lived here so long ago

Fill me with song, just to feel something

These walls echo a tune while the Citadel and I sing

Try and hold a candle to the halls of this great maze,

No cardinal point or ordinal guide, there’s no rhyme to these rational things

A rabbit’s warren or a labrynthiform, am I making it harder to leave?

Everyone is watching, but nobody is looking at me

What kind of spell would it take to set me free?

Suffering unto the guests who dare to serve the realm

Hell knows no rest, until you tear me from this helm

They called me Lusus Naturae, left to die and locked away

But I wouldn’t change a goddamn thing, the view is nice wouldn’t you say?

In here the world slips away,

Inscribed on stone walls are mendacious games we all love to play

They say that these castle walls sing songs for the claimed

But all you’ll hear is the clashing of chains, calling you…
