Betrayed by innocence

Denied forgiveness through self-flagellation,

Inflicting wounds on a bleeding spirit,

Cut by the razor’s edge.

The filth flows into the inner sanctum,

It is defiled by sacred heresy.

The prayers go unheard — whispers to nowhere.

Into the emptiness of hope,

We are led like the blind.

We are condemned to pay the price

For others’ sins, their righteous lies.

We won’t be free, forevermore —

Our souls won’t knock on heaven’s doors.

We are no more — a merely ashes of the dawn,

The dawn that will never come.
