На берегах багряних річок,

У густих темних лісах,

Серед безмежних просторих рівнин,

У жовтих безкрайніх степах,

На вершинах високих могутніх Карпат…

За краєм, за обрієм, крізь зорі, у полум’я,

Стежками розбитими

Рішуче йшли.

Боролись та гинули, а кров лилась

Свободу здобули, честь зберегли та правду знайшли.

Над горизонтом

Одинокий сокіл кружляв,

Над козацькими шляхами,

Де люті вороги зализують рани

Віками…

Among the boundless spacious plains, in the endless yellow steppes,

On the tops of huge mighty Carpathians...

Over the edge, over the horizon, through the stars, through the flame,

Along the broken paths… The Cossacks went resolutely.

They were fighting and perishing. The blood was pouring.

They gained the freedom, defeated the honor and found the truth.

Lone hawk whirled over the horizon, over the Cossack ways,

Where vicious enemies have been licking their wounds for centuries...
