In the late autumn of 1872
Seal hunters were stuck on Svalbard
Seventeen men set out to the Swedish House
To find food and shelter for the harsh winter
After seven days on the ice cold arctic sea
When they finally reached Isfjorden
They entered a world of suffering and despair
Before death put an end to their misery
One after the other fell victim to the disease
Each day brought a new death
No one could escape
This winter tragedy
Winter tragedy
The next summer they came to rescue the stranded men
But they only found fifteen dead bodies
All men died a painful death
And were buried in a cold and lonely grave
