Statuary Lyrics

Far beyond the realms knows territory

In the shadows of the wild wood

Lies a garden now forgotten

Withholding secrets now lost in time

The kingdom is awakened by a thunderous roar

Th elders gasp in awe for they've heard this before

The time has come to tell the tale that once was lost

And warn the king about the beast that dwells beyond

Threatening all the people of his land

And so the eldest ones begin to tell their tale

Long ago far away lived a beast no one

Has ever seen and lived to tell about

It was once human 'til a wizard sick with greed

Cursed the kings only son

The prince was sent on a quest to return

The wizards daughter his prize, her hand to wed

When he failed to bring her back the wizard

Cast his spell twisting the prince into this hideous beast

The king calls forth his bravest knights

Travel to the lands beyond the kingdom

Stay this beast and the princess belongs to thee

So the knights depart the castle

Knowing death lies close at hand

As they cut across the wilderness

Many fall to this untamed land

But then at last the few remaining knights do see

The fabled garden hidden in the darkest wood

The beast awaits outside the garden's crumbling walls

But then it flees inside its lair of sanctuary

Luring them to a gruesome fate

Cautiously the knights then enter the garden's gate

Swords drawn, expecting of danger

They wander through the statuary

Thousands of frozen faces decorate the lawn

Hiding in the shadows the beast awaits

Preparing to destroy the intruders

It lunges at the swordsmen, snarling with bloodthirst

Swords clash teeth and claws

Blood is soon unleashed

In the aftermath the swordsmen stand triumphant

So they start upon their journey home

Unbeknownst to them the beast shall rise again

And so the story begins to repeat itself
