The November fires begin to light at night
Bot just for roasting game
but for glowing heat
The leafs, gold and red,
fitter through the air
The chill of autumn's breath
comes creeping through the faire
Can we enjoy the day?
Before the sun fades away
And the ice freezes the fields
Autumn fear brings winter doom
Sayers know this winter will be a test
But we will splendor in our blissful harvest
The poor get fed for once and the rich are king to folks
Pilling stores as frost slowly gathers on our coats
Can we enjoy the day?
Before color fades away
And the creek flows no more
Autumn fear brings winter doom
The bell rings
The countryside reeks of fear
Gather your wits and heed the faint winds
Store your ales friend and fatten up the hens
We forget the howl of the wolf for a time
We forget the children we lost
The earthly brown becomes a blinding white
The long days turn to long grinding night
The hay is baled and the giant squash is prepared
The cornucopia cracks with the bounty of the feast
Elders look on with a reserved glee and grace
Knowing that soon the reverend could walk this space
Can we enjoy the day?
Before color fades away
And the creek flows no more
Autumn fear brings winter doom
The bell rings
The village gathers to hear the song
