After selling 2,000 copies of their independent debut EP "Shear Confidence" (2002), alternative post-hardcore band Simplekill has been making a name for themselves around the U.S. and is regarded as one of the top drawing bands in their hometown of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Two of the band's members also went out as guitar/drum tech for Nonpoint & Skindred (Lava Records) on a 5 week tour with headliner Sevendust (TVT Records) while handing out thousands of sampler CDs and promotional flyers to crowds of 500+ each night. The band includes an abrasive hardcore/metal sound similar to Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, or Glassjaw but combined with melodic mainstream hooks comparable to Sevendust, Nonpoint, or Linkin Park. On December 11, 2004 Simplekill released the 5-track EP entitled "A Novel in May" which was recorded at the Bieler Bros Studio in Pompano, FL by Andy Goldman of Nonpoint (Lava Records). On this, the band tried a new approach with drummer Jon Sperry handling all the melodic singing while front man Panjo takes care of the aggressive screams and vocals. SK has played countless shows all over at such venues as the Hard Rock Live, House of Blues, the Culture Room, & State Theater while also sharing the stage with national acts Blindside, Drowning Pool, Earshot, Coal Chamber, ILL Nino, Clutch, Vision Of Disorder, Mushroomhead, Steve-o's "Don't Try This at Home" tour (featuring others from "Jackass"), Shadow's Fall, Avenged Sevenfold, Tubring, God Forbid, The Warped Tour Ernie Ball stage, Nonpoint, 40 Below Summer, Poison the Well, Darwin's Waiting Room, Crossbreed, Endo and more. Two tracks from "A Novel in May" can be downloaded off the band's MYSPACE page @ www.myspace.com/simplekill. More press, and just about anything else, can be found at the band's official webpage @ www.Simplekill.com.
