THE ROTTED's subject matter reflects the times we live in. They write about the things that matter to them: real life events, good and bad times the band have had together, drink and drug abuse, the state of society, battles with the authorities and the ongoing struggle for freedom. Formed in early 2008 from the ashes of 90's metal misfits Gorerotted, The Rotted are proving themselves to be the next generation of UK metal. Up front are Gorerotted mainstays Ben McCrow (vocals) and Tim Carley (guitar) and joining them is Gian Pyres (ex-Cradle Of Filth) on lead guitars. The rhythm section providing the driving beat are ex-Screamin' Daemon boys the Reverend Trudgill (bass) and Nate Gould on drums. This line-up of seasoned veterans has shaken off the constraints and limitations of their old bands and genres to create the music that they want to hear, no holds barred.

This 'no compromise' attitude is just part of everyday life for THE ROTTED. Fuck society, fuck taxes, fuck '9-5' lifestyles. It’s non-conformity, non serviam, no gods, no governments. THE ROTTED reject the normal and mundane, they do things THEIR way. Nothing contrived, no gimmicks, their music is honest and from the heart, a unique blend of metal, hardcore punk and cynical lyrical humor.

Though proud to be spawned in the extreme metal scene, the boys' influences span a broad width of diversity. So THE ROTTED's music comes from a completely different angle to most metal bands; It's not the genre or style, it's the attitude and delivery. They are all fans of classic rock, hardcore, punk, death, thrash and black metal and musical inspiration for the new album, 'Get Dead Or Die Trying' can be found in pretty much any decent guitar-based band of the last 40 years

In less than a year THE ROTTED have already made a massive dent in the metal scene, creating tons of press, playing many UK tours and European festivals, destroying the crowd at the sold out Wacken 2008 festival and in a bizarre turn of events having their music played nationwide in a high street clothing store.

THE ROTTED aren't part of any particular scene or fad, past or present. The band have constantly found themselves on diverse yet extreme bills, which to the rotted boys it's what it’s all about! The aim of uniting every band and every style possible under the banner of HEAVY FUCKING METAL!!!
