Living in the Ottawa valley is dull, not much to do in this industrialized yuppie farm, except to form a band with local metal head friends. That's what Shawn Mundi, Chris "Low" Desjardins, Pakko Cousineau and Yves "Brock" Eggleston did in the summer of 1998. For six pain-staking months their angry souls collided and formed an entity they call Skinfish. They created some aggressive vibes. With over a dozen songs, they were armed and ready to spread their anarchist message of hate to the public. When the band first took the stage in July 31st 1998 the crowd stopped and stared into a dimensional paradox in which seemedò. unholy. Skinfish was set loose... playing more and more shows, recording two demos and one full length album, Skinfish are now turning heads (sometimes a little too much which results in decapitation). Tormenting vocals, grinding guitar, low bass vibes and hard pounding drums is enough to describe this award-winning band. The 4 piece armegeddonists won Ottawa's metal band of the year 2000 at the Capital Music Awards. Terrorizing all the well-known venues in the Ottawa scene such as: Barrymore's music hall, Topaz, Zaphods, Molly Mcguire's and Babylon. Skinfish shared the stage with established bands like Anonymous from Montreal, Macabre from Chicago, Deamon from Ottawa and more. This underground metal band is staying away from any mainstream elements and trying to create a different kind of sound. It¯s time to kick down all the doors of this pop culture bullsh*t and make way for an uncanny world of metal.
