This is a tool for detonating violence. It is designed to injure the processes of thought, the physical body, the spirit, and the decaying state of music. It was specifically created as an idol-smashing destroyer of orthodoxy. Given the present state of affairs in contemporary culture, it is a hostile and essential response to the false, industry-created "alternative youth culture" designed by the Major Label-Ozzfest-Clothing Sponsorship Complex to sap creativity, originality, willpower, and true passion, rage, violence, and creation. Pg. 99 is a young seven member cult/band from Richmond, Virginia - two vocalists, three guitars, bass and drums absolutely hell-bent and singular of mind and purpose. Composed of equal parts blast beats, screeching, jagged guitars, and heretic howls, Document #5 occupies a sonic space somewhere between the melody of emo, the spastic fire of modern hardcore, and the velocity of grindcore. Songs that open with machine-gun like bursts of blast drumming and indecipherably heated vocals may yield to avant indie rock, jazzy syncopation, mechanically rhythmic, quietly desperate, or cacophonous. Anything can happen. This is a band in full command of their instruments, operating as a precision instrument against convention and complacency. Extreme noise, extreme response, absolute confrontation IS the answer. Rock for the terminally fucked. Recorded and mixed with full metal governance by renowned engineer Drew Mazurek.
