Given the present state of affairs in contemporary culture, it is a hostile and essential response to the false, industry-created "alternative youth culture" designed by the Major Label-Ozzfest-Clothing Sponsorship Complex to sap creativity, originality, willpower, and true passion, rage, violence, and creation. Pg. 99 is a young seven member cult/band from Richmond, Virginia - two vocalists, three guitars, bass and drums absolutely hell-bent and singular of mind and purpose. Composed of equal parts blast beats, screeching, jagged guitars, and heretic howls, Document #5 occupies a sonic space somewhere between the melody of emo, the spastic fire of modern hardcore, and the velocity of grindcore. Songs that open with machine-gun like bursts of blast drumming and indecipherably heated vocals may yield to avant indie rock, jazzy syncopation, mechanically rhythmic, quietly desperate, or cacophonous. Anything can happen. This is a band in full command of their instruments, operating as a precision instrument against convention and complacency.
