Vaticide hail from Sydney Australia and play a unique mix of technical metal with thrash and death elements. The music is heavy, fast and intense.

The band officially formed in January 2002, although founding member Rob had played in bands with Symon in 1999, and Jimmy in 2001. The first eight to ten months were spent fine tuning as the band strived to create their unique and distinctive sound. Featuring original drummer Mike McCartney, a 4 track demo ( Cursed ) was recorded in July 2002 by Astennu (Dimmu Borgir, Covenant) at Velvet and Amethyst studios.

Vaticide hit the Sydney live scene with force in late 2002 and quickly gathered a loyal following. The band soon became known for their outstanding live sound and commanding stage presence via numerous gigs in 2003. A change in the line-up occurred towards the end of that year when Steve (Stevo') Moore joined the band.

Vaticide returned to the live scene in early 2004 and played a selection of high profile gigs with some of Australias top metal bands, as well as securing several international supports. At the start of in mid 2004, the band went into the studio to record their debut album, once again recorded and produced by Astennu. Drums were done at Velvet Studios, and the guitars, bass, and vocals were recorded at Amethyst studios. The album was mastered at Studios 301.

After more high profile gigs, including the three day Metalstock festival organised by Rob and held on his property in Scone, Stevo was forced to resign from the band due to personal reasons, putting the album release on hold.

Vaticide 's unique brand of technical thrash and death metal is infused with musical integrity and professionalism. This positions them as a force to contend with in the years to come.
