Lord Caiphas Bio

The band grew up in the forested areas of Maragondon Cavite. The provincial capital of Cavite City Philippines, founded by Chris A.K.A. Lar'z Abyss - Drums, in December 22, 2000. Recruited to the fold are: Bhon A.K.A. Hatred - Bass Guitar, a fellow High School classmate., both share similar musical influences on the metal realm of the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. It was not long before th two hired the services of Bryan A.K.A. Dimebag - Guitar/Vocals, that's when the band finally began.

That's before Lar'z decided to name the band, 'Lord Caiphas', a name he had ommitted on the bible while reading it. The band continued to rehease as a trio duiring those past 2 years, every week whenever they have the time to do so. However, due to different personal priorities of band members, namely work, study, business, they never were able to play in a live gig - also this is because of the band's disgust over the current trend scene.

Main musical influences are: Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Danzig, type '0 Negative, Unholy, Crowbar, Acidbath, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, the Doors, (Old) Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Merciful Fate and King Diamond.

Out of the many influences we had, we were able to create such insane mood - DarkDoomDepressive Metal/DarkHardRockStoner Rock. The band recorded a demo dubbed 'Seasons of Darkness, on a lo-fi D.I.Y. am/fm cassette stereo recorded, all tracks are original tunes, many are instumental and outakes. Even now, the band remains underground, and never played in any live gigs or out of town concerts.

As Larz once said - 'I never wanted to play live, if ever were gona do it, it will only depend on each and everyone's decision to do it'. Besides, I don't have anyu full time member as of present. Im hoping for the support both local and foreign. We'll continue to make lo-fi-demos, because we dont have big budget for Hi-Fi Demos) & rehearsing 'em. So that well be known wholely as a band.

Who and What is Caiaphas? What does it mean?

As a high priest Caiphas presided over the first Trial of Christ before the SANHEDRIN, the Jewish court. Caiaphas appointment as a high presit by: Valerius Gratus, the Roman Governor of Syria in about A.D. 18 Caiaphas however was deposed by the Roman Procurator Vitellius in 36/37 A.D., and was replaced by Jonathan son of 'Annas'. Caiaphas' 18 year tenure, brought rare stability. When appointed, he was the fifth high priest in four years.

Caiaphas famous rejoinder is: 'You do not understand (speaking before a crowed of Jews and priests) that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation should not perish!' (Jn 11:47-48,50)…

Such puzzle remains unsloved up to this very day of why and how Caiaphas originated. His biography and early life remains obscure. No one know up to this time the exact history of his past life, for such outside records that may have clarified this answers were probably lost during the Destruction of Yeruhsalaim (Jerusalem) in A.D. 70.

The only sure thing about him is that, he is the one that had Christ crucified, along with the majority of the upper class Jews, during the time of Pilate. Blasphemy was the said offense, a capital punishment was meted out to such crime, this according to the Mosaic Law, that capital punishment was - Death by Crucifixion!

But what has CAIAPHAS Got to do with the present?

Answer. 'Nothing!'

Why?

For it is because Caiaphas today happens to be just a band name originating from Cavite Philippines! That name fits nicely to an underground band, such as US! Lord Caiphas has no similarities to others, and if that happens to be so? Then these are just mere FAKES, POSSEURS, riding on Trends! We are the original LORD CAIAPHAS! A doom Rock band. Not a Prophet, neither a High Priest, Sorcerer, Preacher or what ever shit there is! Call us what you want, brand us if you will, we don't give a shit! We know what we are and what we do!
