The winter of 2000 witnessed the emergence of one of the most extreme Indian Metal acts. PDV, the five-man chaos-squad consists of Pradeep on vocals, Vispy "V.A.S.P." on guitars, Mithun "Pervert" on guitars, Rohit "P-man" on bass and Jai Rowkavi on drums. PDV was the vision realized by Pradeep and Rohit after wanting to create a movement and also to create awareness in the underground rock circuit about hardcore music. "The music was getting stale; everyone was doing the same ol stuff, same covers, no originality. That's where we decided to step in", says Rohit. "Our brand of music is novel, the cutting edge of rock so to speak. It's the music we relate to, about social issues. It reflects the mind set of the modern day youth," says Pradeep.

From humble beginnings, practicing in a hut in some remote part of Mumbai, with no fan or windows, just one door, and one bulb, and all connections for the amps coming from that electrical connection, PDV had competition victories and gigs all over the place and created quite a wave in the underground rock scene. With an electrifying stage act, PDV has gained a reputation of being one of the most explosive live acts. With competition successes behind them, which include, TEC 'Resonance-2001', Mumbai's R.A.I.T's Horizons-2001, where Pradeep won best vocalist, PDV has had numerous appearances at the Pub Razz Rhino. PDV has won the first ever Independence Rock competition at Rang Bhavan at I-Rock 16, 2001. PDV has also won IIT-Kanpur 2003, and been finalists at IIT-Mumbai Livewire 2001, winning best drummer.

PDV has also played at the 17th, 18th and 19th Independance Rock show on 15th August 2002, 16th August 2003 at Rang Bhavan, and on 29th August 2004 at Chitrakut Grounds, Mumbai. PDV has been featured in the BBC London documentary on Indian Music entitled "Bombay Plush". Besides Mumbai, PDV has unleashed their fury in Bangalore at NLS Strawberry Fields 2001 and Rock-O-Rama 2004, clubs in Pune and at the Pune Woodstock 2003, Hyderabad "Jammin - Rockfest 2002", and at Goa Engineering College, Goa, at the Turquoise Cottage, Delhi, MMC Chennai and also IIT- Chennai. PDV has also played at numerous college festivals all over country. PDV has also played at the annual Great Indian Rock 2004 at the Pragati Maidan, Delhi and the Mumbai leg at the MMRDA grounds, with their track "Gutterment" making it to the GIR 8 compilation. Another highlight is their composition "Full Body Burn" being featured in the Throatlatch Studios Compilation Album - Deepthroat.

2004 witnessed the release of PDV's debut album - "Compose…Oppose…Dispose" produced by Randolph (Pentagram), released on OML records and distributed by Sony Music India all over India.
