"Aside from breathing and dying, music is the one element that connects us all, a common ground," says goneblind lead vocalist/ rhythm guitarist John Curry. And that is what goneblind is all about - surpassing barriers, dismissing prejudices, and becoming blind to disparity.

Combining the aggressive spirit of hard rock with a resonating dual-guitar attack, goneblind have given birth to a sound that is both loud and soft, heavy and melodic, menacing and glorious. Curry, who was adopted by the band after a year of solo acoustic performances, likes to describe their sound as "AM Rock- aggressive and melodic. Basically, we write whatever comes naturally, which accounts for each song embracing a different style." It is their wide musical range that strikes the listener upon first hearing goneblind's EP release. "Each member is involved in the writing process. We all have different influences, from Quicksand, to Elton John, to R.E.M… the list is interminable. We just try not to do the same thing over again and just write how we feel."

Since forming in the spring of 1998, goneblind has pursued one of the most rigorous agendas in all of modern rock. Migrating from virtually every corner of the U.S., the four members of goneblind began their journey together in Houston, Texas. Building their reputation both in the Lone Star state and abroad on a blistering live show, goneblind has anointed new followers in every city. "We're a live band, it's what keeps the blood flowing in our veins," Curry testifies. They thrive on the energy the audience gives off when jaded stares become smiles of appreciation. Channeling this collective energy along with Curry's fractured testimonies and blood curdling screams are lead guitarist Aristides, who hammers out bludgeoning guitar blasts, and a relentless rhythm section comprised of drummer Mark Archer and bassist Mitch Burman.

In April of this year, the band signed to Roadrunner Records. Besides supplying the inspiration they needed to sustain their musical vision, goneblind's signing represented a much deeper spiritual and creative rejuvenation. As Curry explains, "It defines the opportunity for us to develop under proper direction. It feels really good to be a part of Roadrunner. It's a family type of atmosphere run by people who are in it for the love of music." Seizing on this momentum, goneblind entered the studio to record some of the most inspired and challenging music of their career. Although not to be included on their first EP, (released on Roadrunner Records September 24th) the songs are sure to remain an integral part of their live set for months to come.

As goneblind patiently awaits the success that lies just over the horizon, they continue to tour in support of major acts (Sevendust, Creed, Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down) throughout the U.S. Their uncompromising D.I.Y. ethic, incessant touring and tireless promotional efforts have helped announce their presence to the industry, but the true glory of this band has yet to be fully revealed. They look to connect with larger and more diverse audiences, they look to further strengthen their muse but most of all – they search for you in the crowd – to give them as much as they give you, to believe in them as much as they believe in you.
