Delusive Work Of Art Bio

1991 was the year it all began. Two schoolmates started skipping school to spend quality time in the studio practicing. Mostly covering songs from then rockstars 'Guns N' Roses', 'Skid Row', 'L.A, Guns', etc. These two indivduals were Da`P|aGu3 & ThyPa|N. At the time, Da`P|aGu3 was toying with the idea of vocals, while, ThyPa|N focused strictly on guitars.

In 1994 ThyPa|N formed a band with a couple of his mates & invited Da`P|aGu3 to be their drummer. This time round, they ventured into the punk scene & covered songs by 'Exploited', 'The Ramones', 'The Sex Pistols', and more. Da`P|aGu3 left the band shortly after to form his own project band playing a more hardcore concept of music. Covering bands ranging from 'Pennywise' to 'Gorilla Biscuit'.

In 1995, ThyPa|N joined Da`P|aGu3 once again to write their own brand of music under the influence of the harder genre. They formed a 4-piece band named 'Straighthate', where the line-up included Micheal(Lead Guitar), ThyPa|N (Vocals & Guitars), Zaki ( Bass) & Da`P|aGu3 (Drums). This was a short lived journey due to the changing musical interests..

1996 brought the duo of ThyPa|N & Da`P|aGu3 into another partnership, merely for old times' sake, even though they had differing musical preferences. ThyPa|N was lost in the depths of death metal , whereas Da`P|aGu3 drilled his way through the gates of goth & black metal.

In early 1997, Da`P|aGu3 join a newly formed melodic black metal band named 'Valykrie', even though he was still hooked onto gothic music and invited ThyPa|N to play as the bassist. The line up included Jay (Guitar), Martin ( Guitar) , Jason ( Vocals), ThyPa|N ( Bass) & Da`P|aGu3 (Drums). This was an aspiring band with great melodies who managed to produce a couple of demo tapes compiled in a studio. Unfortunately, due to the departure of ThyPa|N incited by the call of national service, the band eventually split up yet again.

In the year 2000, after serving the compulsory national service, ThyPa|N & Da`P|aGu3 resumed jamming as a two-piece black/death metal band for the sole purpose of fun..Da`P|aGu3 had by that time given up the idea of playing with a band & went on his own musical journey forming his solo project 'Choir Of Agony'. It was inspired mainly by bands such as 'Tiamat', 'London After Midnight', 'Acid Bath', 'Katatonia' and a handful of others. ThyPa|n formed his own black metal band named "Dark Prophecy" along with Micheal from the former "Straighthate".

A year later, Da`P|aGu3 met up with an old childhood friend named GoDKiLLeR who played the guitar for a couple of years, but had never been involved in a serious project. Da`P|aGu3 extended an invitation for him to join them in a jamming session. GoDKiLLer was the perfect fit. The missing puzzle to years of failure. He fitted into the band like a corpse would into a coffin.

In 2002 after much practice, and the missing link in place, ThyPa|N, Da`P|aGu3 & GoDKiLLeR decided to get down to serious business, and stepped into the studios. They then did their first recording UnDyinG, which was a noteable success. After which, they began the process of naming the band. 'DeMeNt|a' was their first option, but realizing it wasn't the most plausible option, Da`P|aGu3 suggested 'Delusive Work Of Art', which the band unanimously agreed upon. Thus, Delusive Work Of Art was born. The combination of Da`P|aGu3 (The Brain), ThyPa|N (The Motor skills) , GodKiLLeR (The Heart) evoked an outburst of creativity as a new element in the gothic metal world. Their indivdual differences in genre preference and the ability to blend harmoniously by coming to an understanding was a blessing. GoDKilleR provided the funk and melody, ThyPa|N the metal edge and Da`P|aGu3 brought along with him the atmosphere of goth.

After 2 long years of rehearsing and recording, Delusive Work Of Art has completed their EP, which is entitled "When Delusions Erupt" and have stepped out of the studios. As appears a commonplace issue, once again has tragedy rained on them. The official release date was delayed due to the arrest of GoDKiLLeR & Da`P|aGu3. After Da`P|aGu3 was released late 2004 , ThyPa|N & Da`P|aGu3 finalized the necessary decisions and preparations for the release of their recorded EP "When Delusions Erupt". "When Delusions Erupt" is set to be released during the first week of March 2005.
