Bill Steer - guitars
Genres
Widely known for his molten offerings, guitarist Bill Steer has successfully found a worldwide audience with matching critical acclaim for his recordings with Napalm Death and Carcass. In 1999, however, Steer focused his attention on his grass-roots influences; a sonic adventure that would find him vinyl collecting the likes of Cream, Allman Brothers, Little Feat and more. And so Firebird was born.
Hot Wings is the marked return of Firebird, closing a three-year recording hiatus. By far the hardest hitting Firebird release to date, Hot Wings was recorded and mixed onto analogue tape in eight short days. It's a jam session that celebrates the natural sound of each instrument and cherishes the raw and rootsy nature of good ole rock and roll. Each song is delivered in a spontaneous, one-take vibe that gives the tunes room to breathe and listeners opportunity to comfortably enjoy every recorded element.
Hot Wings features the return of original Firebird drummer Ludwig Witt (also a member of Spiritual Beggars, a band in cooperation with Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott). Firebird have released three albums since their formation. Each finding acclaim with stoner, doom and classic rock audiences. The band's 2003 album, Volume 3, saw release by SPV.
