It was only a matter of time before MENDEED made a jump into a brighter spotlight after some promising releases and much accolade from UK press over the last two years. These young players spill forth an extremely exciting mix of thrash and metalcore complete with jaw-dropping riffery, scathing vocals and some MAIDENesque solo work tossed in. The band's Nuclear Blast debut, This War Will Last Forever, will greatly satisfy fans of Shadows Fall, Bullet For My Valentine, Hatebreed and Trivium.
Since the release of their debut mini-album, From Shadows Came Darkness, in September 2004, MENDEED's music has been played on major UK rock and metal radio stations, and even a live session was recorded and aired on the BBC Radio 1 Rockshow. In December 2004 their hard work was rewarded when the video for the single "Ignite The Flames" was added to the UK MTV 2 shows "Headbangers Ball" and "120 Minutes". Relentless touring and intense live performances quickly made them one of the tightest bands on the UK scene. The acclaimed releases that followed, 2005's Act of Sorrow and Beneath a Burning Sky, were only tastes of what was to come with the release of their full-length album, This War Will Last Forever. This is a balls-out metal album with the added dynamics of guitar harmonies, melodic transitions and a metalcore toughness that puts them in a place that few current bands can get to. Comparisons to In Flames, Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage and Trivium show that this modern Scottish metal gang is indeed a force to be rekoned with.
The band has recently been suporting some high-class UK tours with Anthrax, Cradle Of Filth, Slipknot and Trivium, and there is more touring in support of This War Will Last Forever to be done. MENDEED are about to spread their mayhem further on their way to becoming one of Britain's best-known metal exports in years!
