There Mike & Eric sat in sixth grade Study Hall. They were from the same blue-collar town and had known each other from their minor league baseball team, Manville Pizzeria. They were eight years old when they first met. Eric's twin brother Bob also played on that team and the three had become good friends, well that is for the baseball season at least. Now they were eleven and reunited in the same middle school. Mike & Eric would talk about music & their favorite bands everyday. Then one day Mike turned around to Eric who sat directly in back of him and said, "Let's start a band, I'll play the guitar." To which Eric replied, "Yeah, I'll play the bass and I'll get my brother Bob to play drums."

From that day on they devoted themselves to the idea, even if they did not yet know how to play the instruments. After school they would walk the railroad tracks to the flea market in the next town over and pick up "Rock-n-Roll" attire. They would get spiked bracelets, guitar straps and were even able to have a friend lend them money to buy a kick drum pedal. On their walk backs they would dream of playing arenas, all of the fame, fortune & women.

But first the boys had to learn their instruments. Thankfully Eric & Bob's step father was a pretty good axe man himself back in the day. Unfortunately he was also a prick, but we'll get to that in a moment. Now, on the days their step father wasn't being a self centered ass wipe, he did manage to show them the basics. Mike was also able to pick some things up from his cousin's husband and some mail order lessons. By the time they were in ninth grade they were getting pretty good. The funny thing that was happening though was that since they really did not have any formal training, they were concentrating more on creating their own songs. While everybody in there brother was trying to play Van Halen, the boys were writing originals. Yeah the songs sucked, but they were still doing their own thing and forming a chemistry that would fuel them for decades to come. This was band evolution at its finest.

Then out of nowhere, cancer claimed Eric & Bobby's mother. Their step father took out his interest in their mother's estate and took off. The boys were now in eleventh grade and going through some very tough times. They did however mange to keep their mothers house, only now with a mortgage from which they used the funding to payoff their step father. They readily turned the house into a 'fraternity' and the basement into their rehearsal studio. Mike, Eric & Bob continued to work on their sound and were good enough now to play with local, credible musicians. The sound was evolving into a darker heavier one. They added a second guitarist and a vocalist. The following school year one of their best friends got hit by a train. Their feelings turned even darker. They started listening to heavier bands like Metallica, Megadeath, Anthrax & Slayer and their sound reflected that.

The band would go on to replace the vocalist and guitar player. In 1993 they started calling themselves Nuse and began gaining local popularity. They were opening for MOD, Nuclear Assault and many other influences. They played in front of one thousand plus when they played with Overkill and ignited the crowed with their sound. In 1994 Mike father died in an untimely death and the sound got even heavier. Once again they fired the additional guitarist simply because he could not keep up. The local Hardcore scene was exploding which reflected in their ever morphing style. In 1995 they added a Death Metal singer/guitarist from Indonesia whom replaced their singer at the time who was struggling to fit the new sound. This only lasted about a year but the Death Metal sound remained, to a small degree, with the music. This added yet another element to the music. Mike took over most vocal and all guitar duties. They continued to open up for acts in the likes of Clutch, Biohazard & the Misfits.

By 2003 Nuse went on to release 5 EP's which have sold in the US, Japan, France, Germany, Bosnia and may other countries. In spring of 2005 NUSE signed with No Joke Records and are now ready to take their music to the next level with the release of 'Hung Well'.
